THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RALEIGH HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  NASH COUNTY IN CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA
  WESTERN HALIFAX COUNTY IN CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA

* UNTIL 1130 AM EDT

* AT 928 AM EDT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED VERY
  HEAVY RAIN OVER THE WARNED AREA. UP TO 2 AND A HALF INCHES OF RAIN 
  HAS FALLEN IN WESTERN HALIFAX COUNTY SOUTH OF LITTLETON.
  ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WILL RANGE UP TO 2 INCHES DURING THE NEXT 1 
  TO 2 HOURS.

  FLOODING IS MORE LIKELY WEST OF INTERSTATE 95 IN HALIFAX           
  COUNTY...INCLUDING ROANOKE RAPIDS. UP TO AN INCH AND A HALF OF     
  RAIN HAS FALLEN OVER MUCH OF NASH COUNTY...AND FLOODING IS         
  POSSIBLE COUNTYWIDE.
 
* THE GROUND HAS ALREADY BEEN SATURATED BY RECENT RAINFALL IN THE
  WARNED AREA...AND ADDITIONAL RAIN WILL RUNOFF AND CAUSE FLOODING.

SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS MAY RAPIDLY FLOOD...POSSIBLY WASHING OUT
ROADS AND FLOODING NEARBY LOW AREAS.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER
COVERS THE ROADWAY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
