THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RALEIGH HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  WILSON COUNTY IN CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA
  NASH COUNTY IN CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA

* UNTIL 1115 AM EDT

* AT 819 AM EDT THE PUBLIC REPORTED THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY
  RAIN OVER THE WARNED AREA.

* SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS ARE PRODUCING TORRENTIAL RAINFALL IN THE
  WARNED AREA.


REPORTS OF FLOODED VEHICLES ON US 264 IN WILSON COUNTY HAVE BEEN 
RECEIVED. HEAVY RAINFALL OF UP TO TWO INCHES PER HOUR ARE EXPECTED 
ACROSS WILSON AND NASH COUNTIES. NUMEROUS ROADS HAVE THREE TO FOUR 
INCHES OF WATER ON THEM. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION. RESIDENTS 
NEAR CREEKS AND IN LOW LYING AREAS SHOULD MONITOR THE LOCAL WEATHER 
AND STREAMS CLOSELY THIS MORNING.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER 
COVERS THE ROADWAY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE 
ABANDONED. NEVER DRIVE AROUND LAW ENFORCEMENT POSTED BARRICADES...AS 
YOUR CAR COULD BE SWEPT AWAY IN FLOOD WATERS.
