THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RALEIGH HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  FRANKLIN COUNTY IN CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA
  VANCE COUNTY IN CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA
  WARREN COUNTY IN CENTRAL NORTH CAROLINA

* UNTIL 1100 AM EDT

* AT 747 AM EDT DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS    
  WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN OVER THE WARNED AREA.

* SLOW MOVING SHOWERS AND STORMS ARE PRODUCING TORRENTIAL RAINFALL
  ACROSS VANCE... WARREN... AND FRANKLIN COUNTIES. RADAR HAS
  ESTIMATED THAT FROM 2 TO 8 INCHES OF RAIN HAVE FALLEN IN THIS
  AREA SINCE MIDNIGHT. LOCAL OFFICIALS HAVE REPORTED ROAD CLOSURES
  IN VANCE COUNTY... AND FLASH FLOODING HAS BEEN REPORTED IN
  SOUTHWEST AND NORTHERN WARREN COUNTY. ADDITIONAL RAIN FALLING AT
  A RATE OF UP TO TWO INCHES PER HOUR IS POSSIBLE OVER THE 
  WARNED AREA.

CREEK BASINS LIKELY TO EXPERIENCE FLOODING THIS MORNING INCLUDE 
AREAS ALONG SHOCKO CREEK AND NEAR NORLINA. 

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER
COVERS THE ROADWAY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE 
ABANDONED. NEVER DRIVE AROUND LAW ENFORCEMENT POSTED BARRICADES...
AS YOUR CAR COULD BE SWEPT AWAY IN FLOOD WATERS.
