THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOUNT HOLLY NJ HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  MONROE COUNTY IN NORTHEAST PENNSYLVANIA
  CARBON COUNTY IN NORTHEAST PENNSYLVANIA

* UNTIL 1115 PM EDT.

* AT 515 PM EDT...WEATHER SERVICE RADAR CONTINUED TO INDICATE 
THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN EXTENDING FROM SOUTHERN LUZERNE 
COUNTY ACROSS NORTHERN CARBON COUNTY AND NORTHERN MONROE COUNTY.  
THAT LINE CONTINUED TO DRIFT SLOWLY TO THE SOUTH.

RAINFALL RATES OF ONE TO TWO INCHES PER HOUR WILL CONTINUE IN THE 
REGION.  WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED THAT PARTS OF NORTHERN 
MONROE COUNTY HAVE ALREADY RECEIVED ONE TO THREE INCHES OF RAIN 
SINCE ABOUT 300 PM.  HIGHER AMOUNTS HAVE FALLEN ACROSS PARTS OF 
LUZERNE COUNTY AND LACKAWANNA COUNTY.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS 
IMMINENT.

MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN 
RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

INTENSE LIGHTNING IS ALSO OCCURRING WITH THE STORMS.  IF YOU OBSERVE 
THREATENING WEATHER...SEEK SHELTER AT ONCE.
