FLASH FLOOD WARNING
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MOUNT HOLLY NJ
425 PM EDT TUE MAY 28 2002

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOUNT HOLLY NJ HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  NORTHERN SUSSEX COUNTY IN NORTHWEST NEW JERSEY

* UNTIL 730 PM EDT.

* AT 425 PM EDT...WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS WITH 
VERY HEAVY RAIN OVER NORTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA.  THE STORMS WERE 
DRIFTING TO THE EAST AND SOUTHEAST.  RAINFALL RATES OF ONE TO TWO 
INCHES PER HOUR ARE LIKELY WITH THE THUNDERSTORMS.

FLOODING IS ANTICIPATED IN THE NORTHERN HALF OF SUSSEX COUNTY DURING 
THE BALANCE OF THIS AFTERNOON AND INTO THIS EVENING.  

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS 
IMMINENT.

MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT DRIVE YOUR 
VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.

INTENSE LIGHTNING IS ALSO OCCURRING WITH THIS STORM.  IF YOU OBSERVE 
THREATENING WEATHER...SEEK SHELTER AT ONCE.
