920 PM PST FRI DEC 13 2002

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR SOUTHERN NAPA COUNTY IN THE VICINITY OF 
THE CITY OF NAPA

* UNTIL 1130 PM PST

* AT 900 PM PST...HEAVY RAIN WAS CONTINUING IN SOUTHERN NAPA 
COUNTY.  NAPA COUNTY OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES REPORTED THAT THE 
NAPA CREEK AT HIGHWAY 29 HAD REACHED BANKFULL AND WAS CONTINUING TO 
RISE.  THEY ALSO REPORTED THAT THE WATERS HAD RISEN TO WITHIN A FOOT 
OF BEHRAN BRIDGE ACROSS NAPA CREEK IN THE CITY OF NAPA.

RAINFALL RATES ARE EXPECTED TO GRADUALLY DIMINISH...BUT WATER LEVELS 
MAY CONTINUE TO RISE OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING. 
IF YOU ARE IN THE WARNING AREA MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY. 
RESIDENTS LIVING ALONG NAPA CREEK SHOULD TAKE IMMEDIATE PRECAUTIONS TO 
PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS SWIFTLY FLOWING 
WATERS OR WATERS OF UNKNOWN DEPTH BY FOOT OR BY AUTOMOBILE. IF YOUR 
VEHICLE STALLS...ABANDON IT IMMEDIATELY AND SEEK HIGHER GROUND.
