THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  GAINES COUNTY IN WEST TEXAS
  ANDREWS COUNTY IN WEST TEXAS

* UNTIL 1230 AM CDT

* AT 1034 PM CDT...WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED VERY HEAVY   
RAINFALL WAS OCCURRING ACROSS THE NORTHEAST HALF OF ANDREWS 
COUNTY...AND ALL OF GAINES COUNTY.  THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING HEAVY 
RAINFALL WHICH COULD RESULT IN FLASH FLOODING WERE LOCATED COUNTY 
WIDE.  RADAR AND SATELLITE DATA INDICATES ISOLATED LOCATIONS 
RECIEVING 2 TO 4 INCHES PER HOUR.  

* SOME LOCATIONS AFFECTED INCLUDE...
  ANDREWS...SEAGRAVES...SEMINOLE...FLOREY...FRANKEL CITY...PAYNES
  CORNER...HIGGINBOTHAM...LOOP...ASHMORE...CEDAR LAKE AND THE

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING CONTINUES FOR GAINES AND ANDREWS COUNTY UNTIL 
1230 AM CDT.  LOCAL AUTORITIES HAVE INDICATED FLOODING ON HIGHWAYS 
ACROSS BOTH COUNTIES.

AT 1206 AM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR CONTINUED TO 
INDICATE WIDESPREAD MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALL OVER MOST OF ANDREWS 
AND GAINES COUNTY.  ALTHOUGH THE HEAVIEST RAINFALL HAS COME TO AN 
END...FLOODING OF LOW LYING AND POOR DRAINAGE AREAS WILL CONTINUE.

DO NOT DRIVE ACROSS FLOODED ROADWAYS. MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR
IN AUTOMOBILES.
