THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ST LOUIS HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  COLE COUNTY IN CENTRAL MISSOURI
  MONITEAU COUNTY IN CENTRAL MISSOURI

* UNTIL 545 AM CDT

* AT 1139 PM CDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED AN EAST 
TO WEST LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS TRAILING FROM BOONEVILLE TO THE SOUTH
PORTIONS OF THE KANSAS CITY METRO AREA. THEY RUN PARALLEL TO AND 
JUST SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 70. 

INDIVIDUAL STORMS ARE MOVING TO THE EAST AT 25 TO 30 MPH. ONE STORM 
IS FOLLOWING ANOTHER AND WITH THE STEADY INTENSITY OF THESE STORMS
SOME AREAS COULD RECEIVE 3 TO 6 INCHES OF RAIN BY 300 AM. COPIOUS
RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL OCCUR. 

FLOOD WATERS WILL RISE RAPIDLY AND EXCESSIVELY. TAKE EVERY 
PRECAUTION FOR THE SAFETY OF YOURSELF AND OTHERS.

COMMUNITIES OF JEFFERSON CITY...CALIFORNIA...AND OTHERS IN THE AREA 
WILL EXPERIENCE VERY HEAVY RAIN.  NORTHERN PORTIONS OF MONITEAU AND 
COLE COUNTIES WILL BE MOST LIKELY TO BE INUNDATED WITH RAIN THROUGH 
THE WEE HOURS OF THE MORNING.

IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED OR IMMINENT...MOVE QUICKLY TO HIGHER 
GROUND. NEVER DRIVE INTO AN AREA WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROAD.
