AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE INDIANAPOLIS IN 210 PM EST THU SEP 19 2002 MAJOR FORECAST PROBLEM FOR THE NEXT 24 HOURS WILL BE THE CHANCES OF SEVERE WEATHER. STRONG FLOW FROM THE SOUTH WAS BRINGING SOME MUCH NEEDED RAIN TO AREA. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUED TO DEVELOP THROUGH THE DAY. THE AREA OF SLIGHT RISK ONLY NOW EXTENDS INTO EXTREME WESTERN INDIANA. WILL GO CATAGORICAL POPS TONIGHT WITH CHC HEAVY RAIN. LOW TEMPS TO WEST WERE HIGHER THAN GUID. WITH FLOW FROM SOUTH CONTINUING WILL GO SLIGHTLY HIGHER THAN GUIDANCE TEMPS. COLD FRONT WILL MOVE TOWARD INDIANA ON FRIDAY. THE VERY HUMID AND UNSTABLE AIR WILL REMAIN. WILL PROBABLY SET UP TO MORE OF A SQUALL LINE SITUATION THAN AREAS OF RAIN. THE CHANCE FOR SEVERE WILL DEPEND ON HOW MUCH RAIN EARLIER IN THE DAY STABILIZES THE ATMOSPHERE. CLOUDS AND RAIN WILL HELP TO HOLD DOWN TEMPS. WILL STILL GO A LITTLE HIGHER THAN GUID. FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH DURING FRIDAY EVENING. WILL CONTINUE THE CHANCE DURING THE EVENING IN THE WEST WITH LIKELY IN THE EVENING CENTRAL AND LIKELY ALL NIGHT IN THE EAST. WILL NOT COOL OFF QUITE AS LOW AS GUID HAS.
