THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN THE QUAD CITIES HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  HENDERSON COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS
  WARREN COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS
  HANCOCK COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS
 
* UNTIL 500 AM CDT

* AT 9 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
  THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAIN WERE LOCATED OVER NORTHWEST
  HANCOCK COUNTY...AND ACROSS HENDERSON AND WARREN COUNTIES.  

* NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATES INDICATE THAT     
UP ONE AND A HALF INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN FROM OQUAWKA TO 
BIGGSVILLE IN HENDERSON COUNTY...TO PONEMAH AND LARCHLAND IN MERCER 
COUNTY.  RAINS MAY EASE UP FOR AN HOUR OR TWO...BUT ARE EXPECTED TO 
INTENSIFY AGAIN OVERNIGHT...CAUSING LOCAL STREAMS AND RIVERS TO RISE RAPIDLY 
AND OVERFLOW THEIR BANKS.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED...
QUICKLY MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.
