* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  EASTERN NUECES COUNTY IN TEXAS
  SAN PATRICIO COUNTY IN TEXAS

* UNTIL 500 PM CDT

* AT 154 PM CDT...RADAR INDICATES A BAND OF SHOWERS AND 
THUNDERSTORMS HAS DUMPED OVER 2 INCHES OF RAIN IN AN HOUR OVER THE 
EASTERN PORTION OF CORPUS CHRISTI INTO THE PORTLAND AREA OF SAN 
PATRICIO COUNTY. MORE RAIN IS EXPECTED THROUGH THE REST OF THE 
AFTERNOON AS SHOWERS AND STORMS CONTINUE TO DEVELOP. 

THE CORPUS CHRISTI POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT MANY ROADS FLOODED NEAR 
THE DOWNTOWN AREAS OF THE CITY

IF YOU ENCOUNTER WATER OF UNKNOWN DEPTH...STOP AND TURN AROUND. DONT 
DRIVE ACROSS A FLOODED ROADWAY.

THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING THAT WAS IN EFFECT FOR NUECES AND SAN 
PATRICIO COUNTIES HAS EXPIRES AS OF 5 PM.

ALTHOUGH SHOWERS AND A FEW THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE ACROSS THESE 
TWO COUNTIES...THE RAINFALL HAS DIMINISHED. THEREFORE THE FLASH 
FLOOD WARNING HAS EXPIRED.

HOWEVER...THE CONDITIONS ARE STILL FAVORABLE FOR HEAVY RAINFALL AND 
A FLASH FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES OVERNIGHT.

BUSY MORNING AS FRONTAL BOUNDARY HAS UNEXPECTEDLY MOVED FARTHER
SOUTH DURING THE NIGHT.  THIS HAS PROVIDED THE FOCUS FOR THE HEAVY
RAINS THIS MORNING.  AVN HAS THE BEST HANDLE ON THE MOISTURE AND THE
SHORTWAVE LOCATIONS.  EXPECT CURRENT SHORTWAVE/MCS TO CONTINUE TO
MOVE NE OUT OF CRP CWA.   THIS SHOULD DECREASE THE RAFL COVERAGE
OVER THE NE CWA BY EARLY AFTERNOON.  HOWEVER...FRONTAL/OUTFLOW
BOUNDARY NOW APPEARS TO HAVE DRAPED ITSELF FROM LRD TO ALI TO VCT
BEHIND DEPARTING SHWV.  DECENT SLY LLJ AND UNSTABLE ATMOS DEVELOPING
ACROSS BRO AREA ARGUES THAT SHRA/TSRA WILL CONTINUE TO TRAIN S TO N
OVER THE CWA INTO THIS AFTERNOON.  HAVE ALREADY MADE SOME MINOR
MODIFICATIONS TO THE ZFP REGARDING POPS/TEMPS.

LOOKING AHEAD...MORE MOISTURE AND ENERGY LOCATED IN THE SW GULF WILL
ROTATE AROUND THE UPR HIGH INTO THE AREA TOMORROW.  ALSO UPR LOW
OVER WEST TX WILL CONTINUE TO SEND SPOKES OF VORTICITY OVER THE AREA
AND PROVIDE A RRQ JET THROUGH TUE.  THIS ALL SUPPORTS EARLIER
INITIATION OF A FLASH FLOOD WATCH OVER THE ENTIRE CWA.

MARINE...WILL MAKE CHANGES MOSTLY TO 1ST PERIOD AS FNT/OUTFLOW HAS
BACKED WINDS TO NORTHEAST BAYS/EAST OPEN WATERS.
