THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  BROOKS COUNTY IN DEEP SOUTH TEXAS
  UNTIL 5:30 PM CDT

* AT 306 PM CDT...LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED FLOODING ALONG 
HIGHWAY 285 IN NORTHEAST BROOKS COUNTY. DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATED BETWEEN 
THREE AND FIVE INCHES OF RAIN HAS ALREADY FALLEN OVER EASTERN BROOKS 
COUNTY SINCE 2:00 PM.

* SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS ARE PRODUCING TORRENTIAL RAINFALL IN THE 
  WARNED AREA. RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLASH  
  FLOODING TO OCCUR. SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLASH   
FLOODING INCLUDE FALFURRIAS.

ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF ONE TO TWO INCHES ARE POSSIBLE IN THE 
WARNED AREA.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR BROOKS COUNTY UNTIL 
5:30 PM...

AT 3:45 PM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR CONTINUED TO 
SHOW NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER BROOKS COUNTY...THE 
HEAVIEST RAINFALL HAS SHIFTED TO THE SOUTHEAST PORTION OF THE 
COUNTY...SOUTH OF ENCINO.  THESE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE 
MOVING WEST NORTHWEST AT 15 MPH.  

ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES ARE STILL POSSIBLE 
BEFORE THESE STORMS WEAKEN OR MOVE OUT OF THE AREA. SINCE 2:00 
PM...DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATED BETWEEN 5 AND 6 INCHES OF RAIN HAS 
FALLEN OVER THE EASTERN PORTIONS OF BROOKS COUNTY.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT. PEOPLE IN THE WARNED AREA SHOULD TAKE ALL THE NECESSARY
PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND
IMMEDIATELY.
