SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

   EASTERN COLORADO                           
   WESTERN KANSAS                             
   SOUTHERN NEBRASKA                           

EFFECTIVE THIS TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 500 PM UNTIL 1100
PM MDT.

HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS TO 80
MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH AREA IS ALONG AND 100 STATUTE MILES
EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 50 MILES WEST SOUTHWEST OF GARDEN CITY
KANSAS TO 15 MILES NORTH OF MCCOOK NEBRASKA.

EASTERN COLORADO AND EVENTUALLY WESTERN KANSAS. ALTHOUGH THE MID
LEVEL FLOW IS RELATIVELY WEAK...SUFFICIENT VEERING AND MODERATE
INSTABILITY SHOULD RESULT IN A FEW STORMS WITH DAMAGING WINDS AND
LARGE HAIL. AS LOW LEVEL JET STRENGTHENS AFTER DARK...STORMS MAY
EVOLVE INTO AN MCS WITH AN INCREASED THREAT FOR WIND DAMAGE.
