THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SPRINGFIELD HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  MCDONALD COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI
  NEWTON COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST MISSOURI

* UNTIL 345 PM CST

* AT 1246 PM CST...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
  THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAINFALL NEAR LANAGAN...OR 12 
  MILES NORTHWEST OF BELLA VISTA...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 40 MPH. THESE 
  STORMS ARE ALSO MOVING OVER THE SAME AREAS THAT RECEIVED 
  TREMENDOUS RAINFALL LAST NIGHT.  ADDITIONAL RAINFALL OF AN INCH OR 
  TWO...WHICH WILL FALL IN ABOUT AN HOURS TIME...WILL LEAD TO 
  FURTHER FLASH FLOODING ACROSS MCDONALD AND NEWTON COUNTIES.

* SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS ARE PRODUCING TORRENTIAL RAINFALL IN THE
  WARNED AREA. RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLASH
  FLOODING TO OCCUR. SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLASH
  FLOODING INCLUDE...NEOSHO...ANDERSON...FAIRVIEW...GOODMAN...
  GRANBY...LANAGAN...NOEL AND PINEVILLE.

NUMEROUS CREEKS IN MCDONALD COUNTY WERE REPORTED AT OR OVER BANKFULL 
AND RISING.

MOST DEATHS IN FLASH FLOODING OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW WATER CROSSINGS IF WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON
FOOT.
