THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAND FORKS HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...

  EASTERN GRAND FORKS COUNTY AND NORTHWEST TRAILL IN NORTHEAST NORTH
  DAKOTA AND WESTERN POLK COUNTY IN NORTHWEST MINNESOTA.

* UNTIL 400 PM CDT

* AT 1002 AM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
  THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY RAIN CONTINUE TO MOVE ALONG A LINE
  EXTENDING FROM HATTON TO THOMPSON TO GRAND FORKS TO TABOR.
  MOVEMENT WAS TO THE NORTHEAST AT 15 MPH.

* SPOTTERS HAVE ALREADY REPORTED 1.77 INCHES OF RAIN IN SOUTH GRAND
FORKS COUNTY...WITH RADAR ESTIMATES OF AROUND 1.50 INCHES IN
NORTHWEST TRAILL AND WESTERN POLK COUNTIES.

THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE OVER THE SAME AREAS TODAY...AND
PRODUCE RAPID RISES ON SMALL STREAMS AND RIVERS. THERE MAY BE A FEW
BREAKS IN THE PRECIPITATION TODAY...BUT EXPECT HEAVY RAIN DURING
TIMES OF PRECIPITATION. AN ADDITIONAL 1 TO 2 INCHES ARE EXPECTED IN
THE WARNING AREA...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE.

MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR
VEHICLE INTO WATER OF UNKNOWN DEPTH. ONE OR TWO FEET OF WATER WILL
FLOAT MOST CARS DOWNSTREAM.
