THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PLEASANT HILL HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  ATCHISON COUNTY IN NORTHEAST KANSAS
  DONIPHAN COUNTY IN NORTHEAST KANSAS
  ANDREW COUNTY IN NORTHWEST MISSOURI
  BUCHANAN COUNTY IN NORTHWEST MISSOURI
  HOLT COUNTY IN NORTHWEST MISSOURI

* UNTIL 130 AM CDT

* AT 915 PM CDT...SAINT JOSEPH COMMUNICATION REPORTED MANY OF THE 
CREEKS AND STREAMS WERE FILLING UP AND MANY OF THE LOW WATER 
CROSSING AREAS WERE UNDER WATER AS WELL. MANY LOCATIONS IN THESE 
AREAS HAVE RECEIVED AS MUCH AS TWO AND A HALF INCHES OF RAIN AND 
ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT TO THE WEST WILL LEAD TO THE 
POTENTIAL FOR AN ADDITIONAL INCH TO INCH AND A HALF.

* ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINFALL WILL LEAD TO RAPID RISES...AND THE THREAT
  OF FLASH FLOODING...ON THE FOLLOWING STREAMS AND CREEKS

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT
QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY
IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
