THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PLEASANT HILL HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  ATCHISON COUNTY IN NORTHEAST KANSAS
  DONIPHAN COUNTY IN NORTHEAST KANSAS
  BUCHANAN COUNTY IN NORTHWEST MISSOURI

* UNTIL 530 AM CDT

* AT 1132 PM CDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED...        
  THUNDERSTORMS FROM MANHATTAN TO SAINT JOSEPH WILL CONTIUE TO MOVE  
  OVER THE SAME AREAS ALLOWING VERY HEAVY RAINFALL TO OCCUR. RAINFALL
  COULD EXCEED 3 INCHES IN SOME LOCATIONS.

* ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINFALL WILL LEAD TO RAPID RISES...AND THE THREAT
  OF FLASH FLOODING...ON THE FOLLOWING STREAMS AND CREEKS

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT
QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY
IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
