THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
    MCDUFFIE COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA

* UNTIL 1000 AM EDT.

* AT 545 AM EDT...SHOWERS WITH HEAVY RAIN WERE OCCURRING IN THE 
  COUNTY. THE HEAVIEST RAIN HAS OCCURRED OVER THE AREA NORTH
  AND EAST OF THOMSON. RADAR ESTIMATES SHOW ABOUT 3 INCHES
  OF RAIN HAS OCCURRED DURING THE PAST 6 HOURS.

AN ADDITIONAL ONE TO TWO INCHES OF RAIN COULD OCCUR BEFORE 900 AM.
THE MCDUFFIE COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE REPORTED WATER MOVING OVER THE
BRIDGE AT FOLLY LAKE ON STAGECOACH ROAD BETWEEN STONES CROSSROADS
AND WILLIAM GILPIN ROAD.

RESIDENTS LIVING ALONG STREAMS AND CREEKS SHOULD TAKE IMMEDIATE
PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED. MOVE TO
HIGHER GROUND.
