* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR
  PITTSBURG COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA

* UNTIL 315 PM CDT

* AT 121 PM CDT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED AN
  AREA OF VERY HEAVY RAIN 4 MILES NORTHEAST OF SCIPIO...MOVING
NORTHEAST AT 20 MPH. RADAR ESTIMATES THAT BETWEEN 2 AND 4 INCHES OF
RAIN HAS FALLEN OVER THE WARNING AREA. ANOTHER INCH WILL BE POSSIBLE
THROUGH 315 PM CDT.

SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL CONTINUE TO BE AFFECTED BY THE HEAVY RAIN
INCLUDE CANADIAN...INDIANOLA...CROWDER...SCIPIO...KREBS...HAYWOOD
AND MCALESTER

SCATTERED SHOWERS AND A FEW THUNDERSTORMS WILL AGAIN BE THE STORY
THRU THE AFTERNOON WITH RICH MOISTURE STILL IN PLACE ACROSS THE AREA.
SIMILAR TO YESTERDAY...AREAL COVERAGE BEGINNING TO SHOW SOME SLIGHT
INCREASE OVER THE AREA OVER THE LAST HOUR OR SO.  LARGE BATCH OF RAIN
THAT HAS BEEN MOVING NORTHWARD THRU THE DFW AREA THIS MORNING HAS NOW
REACHED THE RED RIVER...AND ALSO WATCHING DECAYING MCS OUT OVER
WESTERN OK.  NICE SWIRL NOTED ON RADAR IMAGRY NEAR THE KS/OK STATE
LINE THAT WILL BE LIFTING TOWARD MO DURING THE AFTERNOON.

WILL ISSUE SOME UPDATED ZONES BY 1100 AM...BUT JUST A FEW MINOR
CHANGES NEEDED.

A FEW HEAVY RAIN PRODUCING THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED IN EASTERN
OKLAHOMA AND NORTHWEST ARKANSAS THIS AFTERNOON INTO TONIGHT.

.SYNOPSIS...
TROPICAL MOISTURE FROM THE GULF OF MEXICO WILL CONTINUE TO SPREAD
NORTH ACROSS EASTERN OKLAHOMA AND NORTHWEST ARKANSAS THROUGH
TONIGHT. SEVERAL WEAK UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCES WILL MOVE ACROSS THE
AREA BRINGING PERIODS OF SHOWERS AND A FEW THUNDERSTORMS.

.PRIMARY HAZARD...
SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAINFALL
WILL OCCUR THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.  THE HEAVIEST RAINFALL
AMOUNTS SHOULD OCCUR MAINLY SOUTH AND EAST OF INTERSTATE 44.

.DISCUSSION...
A VERY MOIST UNCAPPED AIRMASS WILL REMAIN IN PLACE ACROSS THE AREA
THROUGH TONIGHT. DAYTIME HEATING HAS ALLOWED THE AIRMASS TO
DESTABILIZE ENOUGH TO CAUSE SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS TO DEVELOP THIS
AFTERNOON AND WILL CONTINUE INTO TONIGHT.  ANY THUNDERSTORMS THAT DO
DEVELOP WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAINFALL IN A SHORT
PERIOD OF TIME CAUSING PONDING OF WATER IN LOW LYING AREAS AND ON
ROADWAYS.

AS THE ATMOSPHERE COOLS AND STABILIZES THIS EVENING...THE THREAT OF
THUNDERSTORMS WILL DIMINISH OVERNIGHT BUT SCATTERED SHOWERS AND
PERHAPS AN ISOLATED THUNDERSTORM OR TWO WILL REMAIN POSkSIBLE THROUGH
THE OVERNIGHT HOURS.
