TORNADO WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF

   WEST CENTRAL MINNESOTA                          
   CENTRAL AND EASTERN NORTH DAKOTA                       

EFFECTIVE THIS WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 230 PM UNTIL
800 PM CST.

TORNADOES...HAIL TO 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER...THUNDERSTORM WIND GUSTS
TO 70 MPH...AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE IN THESE AREAS.

THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS ALONG AND 60 STATUTE MILES NORTH AND
SOUTH OF A LINE FROM 25 MILES NORTH NORTHWEST OF BISMARCK NORTH
DAKOTA TO 55 MILES SOUTH OF BEMIDJI MINNESOTA.

EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OVER EASTERN ND AND WESTERN MN DURING THE NEXT
FEW HOURS.  DESPITE COOL SURFACE CONDITIONS...FAVORABLE VERTICAL
SHEAR AND SUFFICIENT INSTABILITY EXIST FOR THE POTENTIAL FOR
ISOLATED TORNADOES AS WELL AS LARGE HAIL.

AVIATION...TORNADOES AND A FEW SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH HAIL
SURFACE AND ALOFT TO 2 INCHES.  EXTREME TURBULENCE AND SURFACE WIND
GUSTS TO 60 KNOTS.  A FEW CUMULONIMBI WITH MAXIMUM TOPS TO 450.
