000 WGUS56 KSGX 211201 AMD FFWSGX CAC073-211400- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SAN DIEGO CA 400 AM PST MON FEB 21 2000 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN DIEGO HAS EXTENDED THE * FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREA SAN DIEGO COUNTY MOUNTAINS * UNTIL 600 AM MONDAY PST * AT 350 AM PST...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR AND ALERT GAUGES INDICATED RAIN LOCALLY HEAVY MOVING ACROSS THE AREA. THIS WARNING IS IN EFFECT MAINLY FOR THE BURN AREA OF THE LA JOLLA INDIAN RESERVATION. OVER THE PAST 24 HOURS TOTAL RAINFALL HAS BEEN AROUND 1.25 INCHES TO OVER 2 INCHES MAKING THE GROUND RIPE FOR RAPID RUNOFF. EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF CREEKS AND STREAMS...ROADS AND ROADSIDE CULVERTS. THE HEAVY RAINS COULD ALSO TRIGGER ROCK AND MUDSLIDES IN STEEP TERRAIN. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
