  SMYTH COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA...

* UNTIL 1115 PM EDT.

* AT 824 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
  A CLUSTER OF THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAINFALL  OVER WESTERN  
  SMYTH AND TAZEWELL COUNTIES..MOVING EAST AT 15 MPH. RADAR RAINFALL
  ESTIMATES 1 TO 3 INCHES HAVE FALLEN DURING THE PAST HOUR.          
  ADDITIONAL SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE OVER THE            
  SAME LOCATIONS DURING THE NEXT FEW HOURS. SMALL STREAM FLOODING    
  HAS BEEN REPORTED IN THE CLAYPOOL HILL AREA OF TAZEWELL COUNTY. 


SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS ARE PRODUCING TORRENTIAL RAINFALL IN THE
