THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHARLESTON HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  NORTHWESTERN KANAWHA COUNTY IN WEST VIRGINIA...

* UNTIL 900 AM EST...

AT 300 AM...KANAWHA COUNTY EMERGENCY SERVICES REPORTED THAT AN
IMPOUNDMENT ON FISHER BRANCH OF THE ROCKY FORK NEAR GUTHRIE AND THE
COMMUNITY OF ROCKY FORK HAS THE POTENTIAL TO FAIL.  AS OF 3
AM...THIS IMPOUNDMENT HAD NOT FAILED YET...BUT WATER HAD OVERTOPPED
THE DAM.  IF IT DOES FAIL...SIGNIFICANT FLOODING MAY OCCUR
DOWNSTREAM.  AS OF 3 AM EVACUATIONS WERE IN PROGRESS ALONG THE
FISHER BRANCH OF THE ROCKY FORK.

OTHER AREA STREAMS AND CREEKS MAY REMAIN HIGH FOR MUCH OF THE NIGHT.
