THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RALEIGH HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  FRANKLIN COUNTY IN NORTH CAROLINA

* EXTENDED UNTIL 500 AM EDT

* AT 226 AM EDT LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS REPORTED THAT
FLOODING CONTINUES IN THE WARNED AREA. SEVERAL ROADS HAVE BEEN
CLOSED DUE TO HIGH WATER.

* LOCALLY HEAVY RAINS HAVE TEMPORARILY TAPERED OFF BUT ADDITIONAL
SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE ACROSS THE WARNED AREA
IN THE NEXT FEW HOURS WHICH WILL FURTHER AGGRAVATE THE FLOODING
SITUATION.

SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS WILL RAPIDLY FLOOD...POSSIBLY WASHING OUT
ROADS AND FLOODING NEARBY LOW AREAS.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER
COVERS THE ROADWAY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
