THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOBILE HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SOUTHEAST COVINGTON COUNTY IN ALABAMA

* UNTIL 600 PM CDT

* AT 354 PM CDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED VERY HEAVY 
RAIN 7 MILES NORTHEAST OF FLORALA...OR ABOUT 12 MILES SOUTH OF    
OPP...MOVING NORTH AT 15 MPH.

A SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORM OVER SOUTHEAST COVINGTON COUNTY HAD 
PRODUCED RAINFALL AMOUNTS BETWEEN 2 TO 4 INCHES MAINLY ALONG HIGHWAY 
331 BETWEEN FLORALA AND ONYCHA.  THE HEAVIEST RAIN HAD FALLEN 
BETWEEN STEDMAN AND GREEN BAY WHERE WIDESPREAD AMOUNTS UP TO 4 
INCHES OCCURRED.  ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORM SOUTH OF THE WARNED AREA 
AND WILL BRING ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF UP TO 2 INCHES BETWEEN 
4 AND 5 PM CAUSING ADDITIONAL FLOODING.     

MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS
BRIDGES...DIPS...OR OTHER LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.
NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON FOOT. TO
ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
