THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ST LOUIS HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SOUTHERN BOONE COUNTY IN CENTRAL MISSOURI
  CALLAWAY COUNTY IN CENTRAL MISSOURI
  COLE COUNTY IN CENTRAL MISSOURI
  MONITEAU COUNTY IN CENTRAL MISSOURI
  NORTHERN OSAGE COUNTY IN CENTRAL MISSOURI

* UNTIL 630 AM CDT

* AT 1230 AM CDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR SHOWED AN AREA OF
  THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAIN EXTENDING FROM NEAR
  SEDALIA TO FULTON.  THESE STORMS WERE MOVING TO THE EAST AROUND 25
  MPH.

  RADAR HAS ESTIMATED 1.5 TO 2.5 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN ALONG A
  LINE FROM NEAR PRAIRIE HOME TO JAMESTOWN TO ASHLAND TO FULTON
  SINCE 1100 PM.  THIS AREA HAS ALREADY SEEN 2 TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN
  FROM THUNDERSTORMS ON FRIDAY.  ADDITIONALLY...THUNDERSTORMS WERE
  CONTINUING TO DEVELOP OVER WEST CENTRAL MISSOURI THEN MOVE
  EASTWARD...AND WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE OVER THESE SAME LOCATIONS PRODUCING
  VERY HIGH RAINFALL TOTALS AND A DANGEROUS FLOODING SITUATION.

* FLASH FLOODING CAN BE EXPECTED ACROSS THE AREA...ESPECIALLY
  ALONG AND NEAR THE FOLLOWING STREAMS AND CREEKS.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODING. ACT QUICKLY IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED. MOVE
TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT
TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.

THOSE CAMPING NEAR SMALL STREAMS SHOULD MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND AT
ONCE. WATER LEVELS MAY RISE RAPIDLY WITH LITTLE OR NO WARNING...EVEN
IF T?HE HEAVY RAINS ARE WELL UPSTREAM OF YOUR CAMPSITE.
