THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LINCOLN HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  COLES COUNTY IN EAST CENTRAL ILLINOIS

* UNTIL 515 PM CDT

* AT 213 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
VERY HEAVY RAIN HAS FALLEN NEAR MATTOON. TWO INCHES OF RAIN HAS BEEN
ESTIMATED SINCE 100 PM.

* THUNDERSTORMS WITH EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CONTINUE ACROSS
  MATTOON TO CHARLESTON. RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL LIKELY RANGE FROM
  THREE TO FOUR INCHES BY 300 PM. THESE RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL
  LIKELY PRODUCE FLASH FLOODING.

MATTOON POLICE DEPARTMENT WAS REPORTING HIGH WATER ON SEVERAL
STREETS IN MATTOON.  ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WILL AGGRAVATE THE
FLOODING SITUATION.

EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING ON FLOOD PRONE
HIGHWAYS...STREETS AND UNDERPASSES. NEVER WALK OR DRIVE INTO FLOODED
AREAS AND ABANDON VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATERS.
