* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  EDDY COUNTY IN NORTHEAST NORTH DAKOTA
  SOUTHERN NELSON COUNTY IN NORTHEAST NORTH DAKOTA
  SOUTHEASTERN BENSON COUNTY IN NORTHEAST NORTH DAKOTA
  GRIGGS COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST NORTH DAKOTA
  STEELE COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST NORTH DAKOTA

* UNTIL 700 AM CDT

* AT 145 AM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THAT RAINFALL AT THE RATE
OF ONE HALF TO ONE INCH PER HOUR HAS OCCURRED OVER THE WARNING AREA
OVER THE LAST FEW HOURS.

* FLOODING IS EXPECTED ALONG THE UPPER BRANCH OF THE SHEYENNE AND
  GOOSE RIVERS...AS WELL AS THEIR TRIBUTARIES. CONDITIONS ARE
FAVORABLE FOR THE AREA TO RECEIVE ADDITIONAL RAINFALL IN EXCESS OF
ONE HALF INCH PER HOUR THROUGH THE EARLY MORNING HOURS.

AS A RESULT THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO 7 AM
WEDNESDAY MORNING.

MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR
VEHICLE INTO WATER OF UNKNOWN DEPTH. ONE OR TWO FEET OF WATER WILL
FL8OAT MOST CARS DOWNSTREAM.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN THE DANGERS OF FLASH FLOODING
ARE HARD TO RECOGNIZE.
