IN THE NEAR TERM...CONVECTION HAS A LATE START TODAY DUE TO
STABILIZING EFFECT OF OVERNIGHT TSTM COMPLEX. ALSO WEAK NVA HAS
INHIBITED CONVECTION SO FAR TODAY...DESPITE VERY MOIST AND UNSTABLE
AIRMASS. HOWEVER..STARTING TO SEE SOME DEVELOPMENT IN W TENNESSEE.
THIS COINCIDES WELL WTH THE SHORT WAVE BEGINNING TO INFLUENCE THAT
AREA. AS A RESULT OF THIS ACTIVITY AND UPPER TROF DIGGING SOUTHWARD
OVER EASTERN GREAT LAKES...ONCE CONVECTION GETS GOING IT SHOULD
SPREAD INTO GEORGIA AND MAY LAST WELL INTO THE NIGHT.

MODELS IN GOOD AGREEMENT OVER NEXT 48 TO 60 HOURS AS THIS
STRENGTHENING 500 MB TROF DIGS SOUTHWARD AND FORMS CUT OFF LOW OVER
CENTRAL APPALACHIANS BY 00Z SUNDAY. THIS WILL PLACE MOST OF OUR CWA
IN THE DRYER NW PORTION OF THE TROF DURING DAY SATURDAY. GOOD RH
GRADIENT SHOWS LESS THAN 30 PCT MRH OVER CWA BY 12Z SATURDAY.
LOWERING THICKNESS VALUES AND THE DRY AIR SHOULD MAKE FOR A MORE
PLEASANT WEEKEND.

FOR TONITE WILL KEEP CHANCE POPS GOING ACROSS THE CWA...WITH NO REAL
MENTION OF TIMING. FOR FRIDAY AND FRIDAY NITE...WILL KEEP A 20 POP IN
THE CENTRAL SECTIONS...AND ON SATURDAY A 20 IN THE EXTREME SOUTHEAST

NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING.

THE AREA AFFECTED EXTENDS MAINLY FROM ATLANTA TO ATHENS AND
SOUTHWARD.

SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP DURING THE AFTERNOON
AND MOVE SOUTHWARD INTO CENTRAL GEORGIA. SOME OF THESE STORMS MAY BE
SEVERE WITH DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL.

SPOTTER GROUPS AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PERSONNEL IN NORTH AND
CENTRAL GEORGIA SHOULD MONITOR LOCAL WEATHER CONDITIONS AND BE
