THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN THE QUAD CITIES HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  SCOTLAND COUNTY IN NORTHEAST MISSOURI
  CLARK COUNTY IN NORTHEAST MISSOURI
  VAN BUREN COUNTY IN SOUTHEAST IOWA

* UNTIL 6 AM CDT

* AT 139 AM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
  THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAIN WERE LOCATED OVER MUCH OF THE
  WARNED AREA.

* THUNDERSTORMS WERE CONTINUOUSLY REDEVELOPING AND MOVING OVER
  THE WARNED AREA...LEADING TO VERY HIGH RAINFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES
  PER HOUR...AND THE LIKELIHOOD OF FLASH FLOODING. DOPPLER RADAR RAINFALL
  ESTIMATES THAT UP TO 3 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN OVER NORTHERN SCOTLAND AND
  CLARK COUNTIES...AND AROUND 2 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN OVER PORTIONS OF
  SOUTHERN VAN BUREN COUNTY. ADDITONAL HEAVY RAIN IN THE NEXT FEW HOURS...WILL
  PUSH RAINFALL TOTALS IN SOME LOCALIZED AREAS TO BETWEEN 4 AND 5 INCHES.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT
QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY
IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
