THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DES MOINES HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  HUMBOLDT COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL IOWA
  KOSSUTH COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL IOWA
  EMMET COUNTY IN NORTHWEST IOWA
  PALO ALTO COUNTY IN NORTHWEST IOWA

* UNTIL 445 AM

* AT 141 AM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
  THUNDERSTORMS WITH FLASH FLOOD PRODUCING RAINS OVER THESE
  COUNTIES...MOVING EAST AT 30 MPH.

* THUNDERSTORMS ARE CONTINUOUSLY REDEVELOPING OVER THE WARNING
  AREA...RESULTING IN EXCESSIVE RAINFALL. RAINFALL RATES WILL AVERAGE
  1 TO 3 INCHES PER HOUR. THIS WILL PRODUCE FLASH FLOODING ALONG
  AREA SMALL STREAMS.  DRAINAGE DITCHES WILL FILL QUICKLY.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING OF SMALL
CREEKS AND STREAMS...HIGHWAYS AND UNDERPASSES. ADDITIONALLY...COUNTRY
ROADS AND FARMLANDS ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS AND OTHER
LOW LYING AREAS ARE SUBJECT TO FLASH FLOODING.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED QUICKLY.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT OR OCCURRING.
