300 PM EDT SUN AUG 6 2000

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STATE COLLEGE PA HAS CONTINUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  ALL OF SOMERSET COUNTY.

* UNTIL 530 PM EDT.

* AT 251 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A 
  DECREASING AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER SOUTHWEST AND    
  SOUTH CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA. 

FLASH FLOODING IS IN PROGRESS ACROSS MANY PORTIONS OF THE WARNED 
AREA.  AS OF 300 PM EDT...HEAVY RAINFALL HAS MOVED OUT OF SOMERSET 
COUNTY. HOWEVER...ADDITIONAL DRAINAGE FROM EXCESSIVE RAINFALL 
EARLIER THIS AFTERNOON IS CAUSING RAPID RISES ON AREA STREAMS AND 
CREEKS...AND WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE EARLY EVENING.  THEREFORE... 
THE THREAT FOR CONTINUED FLASH FLOODING REMAINS HIGH IN THE WARNED 
AREA. 

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE ABANDONED. MOVE TO
HIGHER GROUND.
