FLASH FLOOD WARNING
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE STATE COLLEGE PA

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STATE COLLEGE PA HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  YORK COUNTY.
  LANCASTER COUNTY.

* UNTIL 1200 AM EDT.

* AT 910 PM EDT...THE RAINFALL HAD TAPERED OFF ACROSS MUCH OF YORK 
AND LANCASTER COUNTIES. BUT...MORE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE 
MOVING INTO THE REGION FROM THE WEST...AND WILL PRODUCE UP TO 
ANOTHER INCH OF RAINFALL THIS EVENING. 

SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS HAVE ALREADY PRODUCED TORRENTIAL RAINFALL 
IN THE WARNED AREA. THE EARLIER RAINS AND THE EXPECTED RAINFALL WILL 
COMBINE TO CREATE FLASH FLOODING. A FEW ROADWAYS IN THE REGION ARE 
ALREADY IMPASSABLE DUE TO HIGH WATER...AND MORE PROBLEMS ARE 
ANTICIPATED THROUGH MIDNIGHT.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE 
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. DO NOT DRIVE INTO AREAS WHERE 
WATER COVERS THE ROAD. MOVE UP TO ESCAPE RISING WATERS.
