THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BROWNSVILLE HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  EASTERN STARR COUNTY IN DEEP SOUTH TEXAS

* UNTIL 1115 PM CST

* AT 815 PM CST...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED   
  AN AREA OF HEAVY RAIN PRODUCING THUNDERSTORMS FROM 8 MILES         
  SOUTHWEST TO 20 MILES DUE SOUTH OF LA GLORIA IN STARR COUNTY.      
  THESE THUNDERSTORMS WERE NEARLY STATIONARY AND ARE PRODUCING       
  RAINFALL RATES FROM 2 TO 3 INCHES AN HOUR WITHIN THE WARNED AREA.  

* RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING TO   
  OCCUR. SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLASH FLOODING          
  INCLUDE...THE RURAL AREAS OF EASTERN STARR COUNTY.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT. MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR OTHER LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY. NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT. TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
