THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ALBANY HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  WINDHAM COUNTY IN SOUTHERN VERMONT

* UNTIL 215 AM EDT

* AT 1020 PM EDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED VERY HEAVY
  RAIN BETWEEN NEWFANE AND TOWNSHEND ALONG ROUTE 30. THE AREA ALONG
  ROUTE 35 BETWEEN TOWNSHEND AND ATHENS WAS ALSO BEING AFFECTED BY
  THESE HEAVY RAINS FROM REPEATEDLY PERSISTENT THUNDERSTORMS. TWO
  AND A HALF...TO MORE THAN THREE INCHES OF RAIN WAS ESTIMATED BY
  RADAR. ANOTHER TWO OR MORE INCHES OF RAIN WILL BE COMMON
  THROUGH 1 AM AS MORE THUNDERSTORMS TRACK OVER THE SAME REGION.
  IN YOU LIVE ALONG THE WEST RIVER...HEAD FOR HIGHER GROUND.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT
QUICKLY. MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY
IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.

IF YOU ARE IN THE WARNING AREA MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY.

PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CROSS
SWIFTLY FLOWING WATERS OR WATERS OF UNKNOWN DEPTH BY FOOT OR BY
