* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  WEST CENTRAL SAN MIGUEL COUNTY IN NORTHEAST NEW MEXICO

* UNTIL 400 PM MDT

* AT 158 PM MDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
  HEAVY RAIN OVER EXTREME NORTHWESTERN SAN MIGUEL COUNTY...OR OVER   
  THE VIVEASH BURN AREA NORTHEAST OF PECOS NEW MEXICO. OBSERVERS 
  ESTIMATE RAINFALL RATES OF 0.25 INCH IN 20 MINUTES WHICH WILL LIKELY
  PRODUCE STRONG RUNOFF FROM THE BURNED AREA INTO COW CREEK AND THEN
  DOWN STREAM TO THE PECOS RIVER. 

PEOPLE ALONG COW CREEK FROM COW CREEK CAMPGROUND SOUTH TO UPPER AND 
LOWER COLONIAS SHOULD SEEK HIGHER GROUND AWAY FROM THE BANKS OF COW 
CREEK.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE OR WALK THROUGH FLOODED LOW WATER CROSSINGS. 
MANY FLASH FLO=OD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.
