000 TTAA00 KBUF 081818 FFWBUF NYC029-037-121-090000- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLOOD WARNING FOR URBAN AREAS AND SMALL STREAMS NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BUFFALO NY 218 PM EDT WED JUL 8 1998 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BUFFALO NY HAS ISSUED A * FLOOD WARNING FOR URBAN AREAS AND SMALL STREAMS FOR... ERIE COUNTY IN WESTERN NEW YORK GENESEE COUNTY IN WESTERN NEW YORK WYOMING COUNTY IN WESTERN NEW YORK * UNTIL 800 PM EDT * AT 200 PM EDT... THUNDERSTORMS WERE DEVELOPING RAPIDLY ON A LINE FROM BUFFALO TO ALDEN TO BATAVIA. THESE STORMS WERE PRODUCING TORRENTIAL RAINS WITH RATES OF ONE TO TWO INCHES PER HOUR AND WERE MOVING VERY SLOWLY SOUTHEAST. THE STORMS MAY DRIFT INTO AREAS OF SOUTHERN ERIE AND WYOMING COUNTIES AND AGGRAVATE THE EXISTING FLOODING CONDITIONS EVEN FURTHER. LOCALIZED URBAN FLOODING IS ALSO POSSIBLE IN THE IMMEDIATE BUFFALO AREA AND ITS EASTERN AND SOUTHERN SUBURBS THIS AFTERNOON.
