  OF SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND.

* THESE AREAS OF TORRENTIAL RAINFALL WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE
  NORTH AFFECTING THE WARNING AREA OVERNIGHT.   ADDITIONAL HEAVY
  RAINFALL IS LIKELY INTO AT LEAST SUNDAY AFTERNOON.

* SOME SMALL STREAMS ARE IN FLOOD AT THIS TIME.  OTHERS WILL LIKELY
  RISE OUT OF THEIR BANKS OVERNIGHT WITH SOME OF THE SLOWER
  RESPONDING RIVERS AND STREAM DOING SO ON SUNDAY.

* THE RISK OF DAM FAILURES WILL INCREASE AS MORE HEAVY RAIN OCCURS.
  MANY SMALLER PONDS AND RESERVOIRS HAVE RISEN CLOSE TO THEIR
  CAPACITY AND MAY BEGIN TO SPILL WATER INTO THE STREAMS AND
  RIVERS THEY FEED.

RAINFALL OF 4 TO NEARLY 8 INCHES HAS ALREADY OCCURRED TODAY WITH
ANOTHER 2 TO 4 INCHES POSSIBLE BY SUNDAY EVENING.  THIS WILL BE A
PROLONED FLOOD EVENT AFFECTING BOTH SMALLER STREAMS AND LARGER
RIVERS.  ALL INTERESTS ALONG RIVERS AND STREAMS SHOULD MONTIOR
THEIR SITUATION CLOSELY.  FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS OF YOUR LOCAL
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY SHOULD FLOODING PROMPT EVACUATIONS
OVERNIGHT OR SUNDAY.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODS.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOODED ROADWAY.  THE
ROAD COULD BE DAMAGED OR WASHED OUT.
