THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TAUNTON HAS ISSUED A
FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  700 PM EST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN CENTRAL MASSACHUSETTS
 
   ...WORCESTER COUNTY
 
AT 1235 PM...WEATHER RADAR DETECTED AN EXPANDING AREA OF HEAVY RAINFALL
ACROSS NORTHERN CONNECTICUT. THIS AREA WILL MOVE THROUGH WORCESTER
COUNTY THROUGH 2 PM AND WILL PRODUCE RAINFALL OF ONE HALF TO AS MUCH AS
ONE INCH BY 2 PM.
 
THIS ADDITIONAL RAIN WILL CAUSE SOME SMALL RIVERS AND STREAMS TO FLOW
OUT OF THEIR BANKS DURING THE AFTERNOON.  FLOODING HAS ALREADY OCCURRED
IN NEARBY HARTFORD AND TOLLAND COUNTIES AS WELL AS EASTERN HAMPSHIRE
COUNTY.
 
A FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT.  IT IS
IMPORTANT TO KNOW WHERE YOU ARE RELATIVE TO STREAMS...RIVERS...OR
CREEKS WHICH CAN BECOME KILLERS IN HEAVY RAINS.  CAMPERS SHOULD
AVOID CAMPING ALONG STREAMS OR CREEKS DURING THREATENING RAINS.
