THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GAYLORD MI HAS ISSUED A

* FLOOD WARNING FOR...
  ALPENA COUNTY IN NORTHEASTERN LOWER MICHIGAN

* UNTIL 400 AM EST THURSDAY

* HEAVY RAINFALL... RANGING FROM THREE TO SIX INCHES... IN THE PAST 48
  HOURS HAS CAUSED MANY RIVERS... STREAMS AND CREEKS TO OVERFLOW THEIR
  BANKS. MAJOR FLOODING HAS BEEN REPORTED OVER MUCH OF ALPENA COUNTY
  SINCE EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING... WITH CONTINUED HIGH WATER EXPECTED
  THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS.
 
* SCATTERED SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED ACROSS THE WARNING AREA THROUGH
  MIDNIGHT. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS BETWEEN 0.10 AND 0.25
  INCHES ARE EXPECTED TONIGHT. THIS WILL COMBINE WITH RUNOFF FROM
  EARLIER RAINFALL TO CONTINUE WIDESPREAD FLOODING.   

WIDESPREAD FLOODING WILL CONTINUE ACROSS MUCH OF ALPENA COUNTY
OVERNIGHT WITH MANY AREA ROADWAYS REMAINING WASHED OUT OR CLOSED. IF YOU
OBSERVE FLOOD WATERS... MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY.  DO NOT
DRIVE THROUGH WATER COVERED ROADS... AS THE WATER MAY BE DEEPER THAN
YOU MIGHT THINK... WHICH COULD SWEEP YOU VEHICLE DOWN STREAM.
