000 TTAA00 KTUL 252045 RRA TORTUL OKC079-252115- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED TORNADO WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TULSA OK 344 PM CDT SAT OCT 25 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TULSA HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 415 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA ...LE FLORE COUNTY AT 340 PM...DOPPLER RADAR CONTINUED TO SHOW SEVERAL SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN NORTHERN LEFLORE COUNTY...AND AN ISOLATED SEVERE STORM IN SOUTHERN LEFLORE COUNTY. THE STORMS WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AT 30 MPH. THE ROTATION IN THE STORMS IN NORTHERN LEFLORE COUNTY COULD REINTENSIFY AND INCREASE THE TORNADIC POTENTIAL WITH THESE STORMS AS THEY MOVE ACROSS NORTHERN LEFLORE COUNTY. THESE STORMS MAY ALSO CONTAIN QUARTER SIZE HAIL AND STRAIGHT LINE WINDS TO 60 MPH. THE STORM IN SOUTHERN LEFLORE COUNTY NEAR BIG CEDAR IS CONTINUING TO SHOW TORNADIC POTENTIAL AS IT MOVES TOWARD PAGE. WATCH FOR SIGNS OF DEVELOPING STORMS. LARGE HAILSTONES AND UNUSUALLY LOW SWIRLING CLOUDS ARE MANY TIMES SEEN NEAR DEVELOPING TORNADOES. STRONG DAMAGING WINDS AND TORNADOES OFTEN PRODUCE A LOUD ROARING SOUND THAT CAN BE HEARD IN THE VICINITY OF STORMS. FREQUENT AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING OCCURS WITH MOST SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS.
