THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TULSA HAS ISSUED A
TORNADO WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  315 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN EAST CENTRAL OKLAHOMA
 
   ...CHEROKEE COUNTY
 
AT 245 PM...DOPPLER RADAR SHOWED A TORNADIC THUNDERSTORM JUST SOUTHEAST
OF MUSKOGEE. THE STORM WILL MOVE EAST-NORTHEAST AT 30 MPH AND PASS NEAR
FT. GIBSON AND TAHLEQUAH BY 315 PM.
 
SPOTTERS REPORTED CIRCULATION WITH THIS STORM AND RADAR CONTINUES TO
SHOW SIGNS OF A STRONG CIRCULATION. AN 18 WHEELER WAS BLOWN OVER ALONG
HIGHWAY 69 AT THE WAINWRIGHT EXIT WHEN THIS STORM PASSED THROUGH.
 
THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM SITUATION.  ACT QUICKLY.  IF YOU ARE IN THE
PATH OF THIS TORNADO MOVE TO A SHELTER BELOW GROUND IF AVAILABLE.
OTHERWISE...GO TO A SMALL INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR POSSIBLE.
STAY AWAY FROM OUTSIDE WALLS AND AVOID WINDOWS.  ABANDON CARS AND
MOBILE HOMES FOR A REINFORCED BUILDING OR GET IN A GROUND DEPRESSION.
