* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR
     CLAY COUNTY - NORTH CENTRAL KANSAS

* UNTIL 1140 PM CDT
 
* SOME LOCATIONS AFFECTED
     CHAPMAN CREEK AND ITS TRIBUTARIES
     TRIBUTARIES TO THE REPUBLICAN RIVER
     WEST FANCY CREEK
     
* CAUSE AND EFFECT
     DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THAT UP TO 4 INCHES OF RAIN HAS
     ALREADY FALLEN OVER PARTS OF CLAY COUNTY AS A RESULT OF 
     VERY STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS DROPPING EXTREMELY
     HEAVY RAINFALL.

* FORECAST CONDITIONS
     THESE STORMS ARE EXPECTED TO MOVE VERY SLOWLY TO THE
     NORTHEAST...AND CONTINUE TO REDEVELOP OVER SOUTHERN CLAY
     COUNTY.  THIS VERY SLOW MOVEMENT AND VERY HEAVY RAIN WILL
     LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING OF STREAMS AND CREEKS.
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGER OF FLOODING.

DONT DR&IVE ACROSS FLOODED ROADS!  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN
VEHICLES.
