FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  915 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTHWEST ALABAMA
 
   ...CHOCTAW COUNTY
 
AT 605 AM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR IN MOBILE INDICATED
HEAVY RAINFALL ONCE AGAIN OCCURRING OVER CHOCTAW COUNTY OF SOUTHWEST
ALABAMA. RADAR ESTIMATES THAT LOCALLY UP TO 1.75 TO 2.00 INCHES OF
RAIFNALL HAS OCCURRED OVER NORTHERN AND CENTRAL PARTS OF THE COUNTY
SINCE 4 AM. THE SAME AREAS RECEIVED BETWEEN 10 TO 15 INCHES OF RAINFALL
YESTERDAY. AS A RESULT...ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINFALL THIS MORNING WILL
QUICKLY RUNOFF INTO ALREADY SWOLLEN CREEKS AND STREAMS. PONDING OF WATER
IN LOW LYING...POOR DRAINAGE AREAS...AND AREA ROADWAYS IS ALSO LIKELY
THIS MORNING. LOCAL COUNTY OFFICIALS REPORT ONE BRIDGE NEAR GILBERTOWN
IS COVERED BY FLOODWATERS.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEV0ER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
