FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  300 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTHWEST ALABAMA
 
   ...CHOCTAW COUNTY
 
AT 910 AM...MOBILE DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR INDICATED A SWIRLING
AREA OF PERSISTENT HEAVY RAIN OVER CHOCTAW COUNTY...ASSOCIATED
WITH THE REMNANTS OF DANNY.  THIS AREA HAS BEEN INCREASING IN INTENSITY
OVER SINCE SUNRISE AND WILL SHOW LITTLE IN THE WAY OF
MOVEMENT THROUGH THE DAY.
 
DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR SHOWS RAINFALL OF 4 TO 6 INCHES FROM BUTLER
TO GILBERTOWN...FALLING SINCE 6 AM.  ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINS ARE EXPECTED
THROUGH THE MIDDLE AFTERNOON HOURS.
 
HERE ARE A FEW REPORTS RECEIVED BY THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE
OVER CHOCTAW COUNTY ALABAMA...
 
COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE OFFICIALS REPORT HWY 17 SHOWING SIGNS
OF WASHING OUT IN SPOTS.   2 TO 4 FEET OF WATER IS BEING REPORTED
OVER SECONADRY ROADS.
 
WPRN RADIO STATION IN BUTLER REPORTED 9 INCHES OF RAIN
FROM 5 TO 830 AM.
 
SEVERAL CREEKS OVER THE COUNTY WERE OVERFLOWING THEIR BANKS.
 
MOST DEATHS IN FLOOD,ING OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A
SMALL ONE...ON FOOT.
