FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1015 AM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION......
 
IN SOUTHWEST FLORIDA
 
   ...SOUTHWESTERN COLLIER COUNTY
 
VERY HEAVY RAINS WHICH HAVE POUNDED SOUTHWESTERN COLLIER COUNTY SINCE
630 AM HAVE PRODUCED FLOODING IN MARCO ISLAND. MIAMI DOPPLER RADAR WAS
INDICATING A SOLID BAND OF VERY HEAVY RAIN WHICH WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE
ONSHORE IN THE MARCO ISLAND AREA THROUGH 930 AM. RESIDENTS OF MARCO
ISLAND SHOULD EXPECT FLOODING TO CONTINUE AND POSSIBLY WORSEN THROUGH
MID-MORNING.
 
STREET FLOODING WILL BE A PROBLEM IN THOSE AREAS THAT RECEIVE HEAVY
RAINS.  IF YOU ARE DRIVING...REDUCE YOUR SPEED IN AREAS OF RESTRICTED
VISIBILITIES AND AVOID PONDING WATER IN STREETS...UNDERPASSES AND OTH
LOW LYING AREAS WHERE DRAINAGE IS POOR. DO NOT ALLOW CHILDREN TO PLAY
IN FLOOD WATERS...THEY MAY BE CONTAMINATED.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATE.R SHOULD BE ABANDONED
QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
