000 TTAA00 KMAF 130411 FFWMAF NMC015-025-130700- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MIDLAND TX 1110 PM CDT (1010 PM MDT) TUE AUG 12 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MIDLAND TX HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 100 AM MDT (200 AM CDT) FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN SOUTHEASTERN NEW MEXICO ...LEA COUNTY ...EASTERN EDDY COUNTY A BROAD AREA OF MODERATE RAIN WITH ISOLATED AREAS OF HEAVY RAIN CONTINUES ACROSS EAST EDDY COUNTY AND A LARGE PART OF LEA COUNTY. MIDLAND DOPPLER RADAR AND SATELLITE ESTIMATES INDICATE THAT BETWEEN TWO AND FIVE INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN OVER LEA COUNTY SINCE 6 PM. WITH RAIN STILL OCCURRING A FLASH FLOODING THREAT EXISTS AS ARROYOS AND NORMALLY DRY CREEK BEDS ARE LIKELY RUNNING WITH WATER...ESPECIALLY IN SOUTHEAST AND NORTHEAST EDDY COUNTY AND IN WEST LEA COUNTY. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN BELOW ONE INCH THROUGH 1 AM AS THE HEAVIEST RAINS HAVE MOVED NORTHEAST INTO THE SOUTH PLAINS OF TEXAS.
