THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NORTH PLATTE NE HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 435 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...

IN SOUTHWESTERN NEBRASKA

   ...CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN HAYES COUNTY
 
AT 1030 PM CDT NORTH PLATT DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A LARGE AREA OF
GREATER THAN 3 AND ONE HALF INCHES OF RAIN OVER CENTRAL HAYES COUNTY
TO THE WEST OF HAYES CENTER. THE MAJORITY OF THE THUNDERSTORMS HAD
MOVED OUT OF THE AREA...BUT RUNOFF FROM THE STORMS WILL CAUSE
PROBLEMS ALONG CANYONS...LOCAL CREEKS AND TRIBUTARIES...ESPECIALLY
ALONG BLACKWOOD CREEK. FLASH FLOODING CAN OCCUR RAPIDLY IN THESE
AREAS.

DON'T DRIVE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROAD!
 
MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.
NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON FOOT.
TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
