000 TTAA00 KJAN 290110 FFWJAN MSC097-290315- BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED FLASH FLOOD WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE JACKSON MS 809 PM CDT SAT JUN 28 1997 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN JACKSON HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1015 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI ...MONTGOMERY COUNTY AT 808 PM RADAR ESTIMATES OF UP TO 3 AND A THIRD INCHES OF RAIN HAD FALLEN OVER NORTHERN MONTGOMERY COUNTY JUST NORTH OF DUCK HILL SINCE 7 PM. PERSISTENT THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE IN THE AREA THROUGH 9 PM. ADDITIONAL AMOUNTS OF UP TO 1 INCH INCH ARE POSSIBLE WHICH WILL ONLY AGGRAVATE RUNOFF. AT NIGHT BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE T`HE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY. MOVE SWIFTLY TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. <
