THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  700 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN NORTHEAST NORTH DAKOTA
 
   ...NORTH CENTRAL BENSON COUNTY
 
AT 1235 PM CDT DEVILS LAKE LAW ENFORCEMENT REPORTED THAT IVERSON DAM IS
ON THE VERGE OF FAILURE. THIS DAM IS 2 MILES WEST AND 2 MILES NORTH OF
THE TOWN OF LEEDS. THIS WATER WILL FLOW DOWN KENS CREEK INTO THE TOWN OF
LEEDS AND ACROSS HIGHWAY 2. THE WATER WILL THEN FLOW INTO LITTLE COULEE
ON ITS WAY TO MAUVIOUS COULEE.
 
PEOPLE IN THE TOWN OF LEEDS AND ALONG KENS CREEK SHOULD TAKE IMMEDIATE
MEASURES TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY.
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE
THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS
OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
